DENTON — Every Memorial Day, many visit local cemeteries to pay respects to those who served in the United States Armed Forces.

This Memorial Day, Saturday, May 30, Patti’s Petals Florist in Denton is participating in the nationwide Memorial Day Flowers program, and will set up a stand at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock to give out free roses to visitors. Each visitor will receive one or two roses to place on a headstone to honor someone who served.

“Patti’s Petals Florist often supports various good causes, however, this one is special and we are privileged to participate in honoring the people and families that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Patti Wood, owner of Patti’s Petals Florist. “Flowers are a form of emotional expressions and a single stem placed on a headstone is an appropriate show of respect.”

For more information, call Patti’s Petals Florist 410-479-4445.
